Murals - beautiful wall decoration

Of course, pictures are not a must when furnishing the living room or bedroom. They fulfil no practical purpose. However, their beauty delights us every day anew. A beautiful picture deserves a place of honour in your room. Make sure you choose a place where the view is not obstructed by any furniture or other decorative elements. A large picture is most effective when viewed from a certain distance.

If you follow a few tricks, your new mural will blend harmoniously into its surroundings: a small-format canvas picture will look lost if it hangs in the vicinity of a large piece of furniture. You should therefore hang a rather large picture on the wall behind the bulky sofa. A mural with a small height and oversized width can help to visually widen the room. If you want the effect of a higher room, a portrait-format picture with a narrow width is suitable.

Of course, you can also create an optical illusion with a skilfully chosen subject. The skyscrapers in the Empire State Building picture seem to be growing upwards, so that you inevitably get the feeling that your living room is higher than it actually is.

Don't forget that murals can decorate any room. Even in the hallway, on a staircase wall, in the guest room or in the bathroom, a mural provides a splash of colour and a little escape from everyday life. In the hobby room, murals can stimulate the imagination.

One picture or several pictures?

You can enhance a bare wall with a single large picture or arrange several pictures in a series. If you opt for a series of pictures, they should be in the same style or colour.
